Microfilming Equipment for 14" x 17" and
Smaller
FicheNet Imaging Solutions has worked very hard to acquire and master the
use of the finest microfilming equipment ever manufactured to ensure that we are able to provide you with the highest
level of quality microfilm available anywhere. We encourage
a sample demonstration using your documents for a quality comparison. You will be impressed! Below are some highlights of this fine equipment.

TDC Documate IV cameras are the most complete
|
|
document-to-microfilm image & data capture
system ever manufactured!
|
TDC Documate IV's are used primarily for 16mm roll film and 105mm true microfiche. (currently
running (3) three cameras plus an older TDC Documate II model)
- The "Doc IV's" are driven by complex computer hardware and
software, setting them high above ordinary microfilming equipment.
- Documate IV's are considered planetary cameras, even though there are
many moving belts and parts, the paper and the film is absolutely motionless during the exposure.
- Document sizes from 3"x5" inches up to 14"x17" for
either 16mm or 105mm.
- Cycling time of less than 1 second per page single sided and 1.5 seconds
for double sided. That's over 3,500 pages per hour. Multiply this by (4) four cameras, by (2) two or (3) three
(8) eight hour shifts.... getting the picture?
- Doc IV's handle: 16mm, 35mm, 70mm, 82.5, and 105mm film.
- 16mm and 105mm reduction ranges of 23x-24x, 29x-31x, 40x-42x and 48x-50x.
- Alpha and Numeric display containing up to 12 characters can be used
under each image on any of the film formats
- 16mm formats can accommodate thousands of images per roll.
- 16mm can be filmed with single or tri-level blipping (count marks below
the images), in simplex, duplex or multiplex formats. Simplex mode is the most popular.
- 105mm formats accommodate formats of up to 600 images per fiche! (our
competitors jacketed film hold only approximately 98 to 120 images per jacket!)
- 105mm can provide and eye readable title with up to 4 lines or 80 characters
each.
- Using the Optical Titling Option, we can place company logos or other
images directly on the title of the master film, no stick on labels!
- Document forms feeder for those pesky dot-matrix printouts.
- Auto and manual exposure settings to aid with capturing those overly
dark or light documents.
- Color drop-out through the use of special color filters can make red
lines, highlighter and other colors disappear for better forms processing.
- Automatic bar-code indexing at the time of filming, great for preprinted
forms. We can also add bar codes during preparation to ease with indexing later.
- Over 180 line pair resolution at 24x standard and 200+ (up to 215) line
pair resolution at 42x and 48x reductions. (Line pair resolution is the smallest level of line pairs readable on
a standard resolution target multiplied by the lens reduction. See our pages on Microfilm Quality for more in depth
information. Try this formula on the film you are currently receiving or ask your current vendor for their resolution
statistics. To even compare they must be using doc IV technology
- The unbeatable resolution creates what we like to call "Digital
Ready Microfilm" which contributes to the success of our ArkScan Specialty Imaging service.
