|
| Cropping |
- Automatic cropping - Software analyzes removes unwanted
thick white or black borders around the documents.
- Manual cropping - Operator manually selects an area of
a document to crop to. Very rare and labor intensive.
|
| Rotation |
- Automatic rotation - Software analyzes an image and attempts
recognize the orientation of the image and adjust it to the proper orientation. (Complex documents can cause the
program to make a mistake and over rotate or miss a document that needs rotated it isn't 100% perfect all the time.)
- Manual Rotation - All images in a batch can be rotated
in any orientation.
|
| Deskew |
- Skew refers to how much rotation the text has in relation
to a horizontal reference line. An image that is not perfectly square is consider "skewed." Very important
for .pdf conversion. Deskewed images often compress up to 25% smaller after processing.
|
| Noise removal (despeckling) |
- Removes random flecks of noise from the image without degrading
the text.
|
| Character Smoothing |
- Smoothing allows you to adjust blocks of characters (pixels, actually).
Using this you can bring out faint text, de-emphasize bold text, join dot matrix text into something readable by
an OCR engine, and smooth out the edges of jagged text.
|
| Invert Color |
- Inverting reverses the colors of the entire image, going from white
on black to black on white or vice versa. It is useful when trying to process images that were scanned in reversed,
or for generating reversed output.
|
| Flip Image |
|
|
| Resizing |
- "Stretch" or "shrink" images to a
new size. Can cause loss of resolution.
|
| Insert Pictures, image overlays and watermarks |
