Indexing Batched Files from 16mm and 105mm Microfilms
| The methods you use to file or retreive your documents is usually the information
that is indexed. |

Microfilm Level I
- Uses a From: ____ - To: ____ range on the film box or fiche title. This
method ONLY indicates the first and last file on the roll or a fiche all others in between must be manually searched
for. This method is very effective IF all the files are in perfect order otherwise this method can be very frustrating
while trying to locate a 'misfile.'
- Best for basic archiving with minimum retrievals.
- Allows for only one data field to be used.

Microfilm Level II
- Uses a cross referencing system that refers the user to the exact roll
and frame or fiche and frame position that any predetermined file begins on. Extremely effective BULLET-PROOF method
for all files; superior for files that are NOT in exact order. This reates the capability to search for files using
one or more fields.
- Best used when frequent retreivals are needed.
- Allows for multiple cross referencing data fields, (i.e. Name, SSN#,
File#, Date etc...)
